DESIGN - PORTABLE

The building is transported in five parts. Each part is approx 19000 x 4200.

Some drawings and details of the greenhouse. We have used 200UB and 100UC for the main structure. They are set out on the 1050 x 1050 grid. The front entrance of the design faces south so there are only a few windows, which provide cross ventilation and some natural light into the classrooms. The greenhouse faces north to absorb the most sun. A vented glass wall separates the two compartments so the warm air can pass through to the classroom from the greenhouse.

RESEARCH

I have included some information about the products we plan on using in our sustainable classroom. We are using water tanks under the building, which will provide storage as well as thermal mass. Solar panels on the roof will provide enough energy for the elecricity use of the classrooms, which includes lighting and computers.

DESIGN - SKETCHS

Some initial ideas, we added a grid , 1050 x 1050mm , which helped with the positioning of framework and walls.
